We hash with the Long Beach Hash House Harriers and are on a crusade to bring the world of hashing into the more fashionable and comfortable modern age.
We love cheap cotton hash shirts as much as everyone else, but we wonder why on earth would you want to run in one? They soak up sweat like a sponge and hold on to mustard and beer stains like champs. Just because you are a hasher doesn't mean you have to look like a slob with a glandular problem!
We specialize in synthetic materials for *running*. You know, the often neglected other part to hashing? You will very rarely see any cheap cotton t-shirts on our site. They suck for running and it's almost always cheaper for you to get those screen printed locally anyway. However, Venus insists that we make cute girl items that will fit harriettes of all shapes and sizes so we'll have that kind of stuff as well. We also keep an eye out for good deals on bulk hash items (stickers, lights, magnets, etc).
We design, print (and wear!) every shirt you find here ourselves. We are not affiliated with any haberdashery but are not in this for the money. Breaking even is our ultimate financial goal. If you think we're getting rich off of this, we'd like to try whatever it is you're smoking!
Our Model
Synthetic shirts are much more expensive to buy and print on than cotton and it's hard for smaller hashes with limited funds to sink $1,000 on 50 shirts. By far the biggest cost is the shirts themselves. A short sleeve blank costs about ten times what a cotton one does. We print shirts on demand so we don't have to keep a large inventory. It takes more work to do it this way but it allows you to buy as many or as few shirts as you want whenever you want. It also means that we don't have to mortgage the house every time we do a print run. We want to supply haberdashers with quality stuff to sell at a reasonable price. You need to keep your hash looking good, keeping cool & dry and make a little money in the process so you can buy mo' beer (Ok, looking good might be a stretch... we know all too well what you guys look like).We also get a kick out of seeing our shirts being worn in random pictures from hashes we've never been to. Keep sending those pictures in!
